Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.8 Looks Sublime In New Transformers Movie Trailer

A new trailer is here to watch.

Paramount Pictures has released another new trailer for the next movie in the bombastic Transformers movie franchise.

Judging by the period, cars, and characters, somebody has been listening to fans from before Michael Bay got his hands on the title. Nostalgia for the 1980s and 1990s is the name of the game right now, and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is set in 1994 and is a direct sequel to 2018's Bumblebee (set in 1987).

That means some period cars will be featured, and we get another good look at the silver 964-generation Porsche Carrera RS 3.8 hero car.

The classic and semi-rare Porsche 911 appears to be the lead car and the Autobot character called Mirage.

Mirage has appeared in the movies before, but here's some deep movie trivia: Mirage was a red Ferrari 458 in the Dark Of The Moon movie, but the name was changed to Dino as Ferrari didn't want its car to have the name of a toy on shelves when it came to movie merchandising.

In Rise of the Beasts, Mirage is voiced by Peter Davidson and, unlike the previous incarnation, doesn't have an Italian accent.

Also present in the trailer is Bumblebee, now a 1970s Chevrolet Camaro. Bumblebee used to be a VW Beetle in the original TV series, but in this movie, Volkswagen is represented by Wheeljack as a Volkswagen Type 2. Also in the trailer, but not in vehicle form, is Arcee. Arcee transforms into a red and white Ducati 916 and is voiced by Liza Koshy.

We're also looking forward to some of the Decepticons, including Battletrap, who turns into a 1980s GMC TopKick C7000 tow truck, and Nightbird, who becomes what looks like an aftermarket-laden Nissan Skyline GT-R R33.

This should be an exciting installment and is the first in a new trilogy influenced by the Transformers: Beast Wars animated TV show that followed directly from the original TV series and line of toys.
